Thanks everyone! I didn’t know about the peak and off-peak... coming from Marriott this is like oh no what happened to the good old Hyatt???

Anyway, bought 2K and booked one night (already had 6K). As for the other 8K I will keep an eye out; if no sale by end of Feb I will just buy the points at regular rate or pay cash depending on the room rate. Right now it’s about 15K yen per night.

Canadian here so no credit card options unfortunately
