OAL rebooking only happens on the day (or very close to it) and the circumstances are very constrained. If you wanted to share the specifics then we can perhaps let you know what would work in terms of things like Joint Business. However one thing you can certainly do is cancel the BA booking, get a full refund, and use your Skyteam miles to go La Première.
Any connection below MCT will be picked up in the next few days automatically, and your reservation will be flowed on to what the robots have in mind for you.
CDG-LHR-ORD, as noted up-post. As originally booked, we had a noonish departure from CDG, which would allow us to enjoy a nice breakfast after our only night in Paris prior to our return to the US, then a decent enough connection in LHR before a nice ride home. As currently constructed, we'd have either a missed connection at Heathrow or an ungodly early departure from Paris before connecting to a fully occupied 747 F cabin, neither of which are super appealing to me. And unfortunately, the only Skyteam miles I have are with Delta, so a La Premiere awards booking isn't possible.
I don't know precisely what the robots have in mind, but as a fellow corporate wage slave, I know that it cannot be good.
Thanks all for the input. I had very low expectations of pulling this off coming into this anyway.
