Your assumption is wrong. Well, of course there are people who don't know any English. Everywhere specially in the United States. lol, not even their President speaks English.
But the point is, that there is a huge amount of people who know English well enough to have a basic conversation. Whether it is France, Germany or Sweden. Just because there are some older people somewhere who don't know English doesn't make my argument any less valid.
