It would mean that you’d need to deal with Expedia for any changes / refunds / etc. As for PQP — you’re forgetting a very important caveat. The fare will earn a percentage of distance, from 25-100%, depending upon the fare class, and I don’t know that there’s any way to know what the fare class will be in advance. (They cut the lowest bucket for bulk fares to 25% as of January 1.
