HR Osaka is Cat 2, currently 8k pts/night. If it goes to "high season" that will jump to 9500 pts/night

Points on sale are about 1.7c each. So 8k pts will cost you about $136. But a $136 reservation would earn you 675 pts, plus any status bonus. I'd keep this in mind when deciding whether to use points, cash, or some combination (certainly don't buy pts to redeem a $136 night... just spend the cash on the room instead of pts and earn some points for the spend)
I saw rates as low as $124 but after taxes for 2 nights it’s $300.
8k Points nightly is a much better deal, a friend can transfer points to you as well which is an option. Paying $136 is still a little better than $150 which the $124 rate after taxes is $150 plus it’s not flexible, while points Reservations are flexible. If possible get a Credit Card From Chase and transfer points. Most have a 50k point sign up bonus.
