To all those who offered some insight and examples of other options and treatment in similar scenarios - thanks. That helps me. American offered 10K miles and as I told them, if they'd put me in a hotel that reflected the fact they care, status or otherwise, about us then I'd probably have let the other stuff go - even the baggage handling delays on top of everying. Looks like the retail rate of the room they put some of us in is $57/night. It was not good. In any case, I'm looking into the EQM situation on UA and DL, and I'll watch for when they do status match. If they don't do Gold hopefully the 2nd half of the year when I have my Platinum it will be fine.

To those, such as mctaste who basically said some variation of "You think to highly of youself b/c you're nothing next to me and I don't get this stuff" - just LOL. I do think that's really funny. I'd posit that maybe you just project too much or maybe you just don't expect enough. I don't expect you to agree, but then based on your hot sports opinion I imagine we wouldn't agree on much anyway.
