Oh so when I had NC4 and NC5 that in the app listed 45k and 105k respectively that wasn’t the cash out value. Odd since last year when an idiot CSR cashed out one of my NC4 certificate 45k was deposited in my account. I say idiot be I wanted it attached to a Cat4 reservation. He made the reservation as a points advance. Of course the Cat went up. Luckily I found someone that fixed it for me. But you certainly could get 45k back from a NC4 you couldn’t use and 105k redeposited for a NC5 in the past.
BTW I had my last NC5 certificate extended and attached. . The NC5 certificate was expiring at the end of March. I made a points booking for a hotel for November. The points were deducted from my account. Then I called and had the NC5 certificate attached to that reservation, I gave the reservation number to the agent. The point were redeposited, the certificate is no longer in my account and I have the reservation.
For what it’s worth, the agent said Marriott had finally made it easier to do this
