A while back, AC introduced "branded fares". There's a thread with details, but in short, it can be confusing now because the letter is no longer the most important part. An L fare could be Standard, Basic, Flex, or Comfort, and mileage earning would be very different.

If you're booked in Basic, you'll get nothing. If it's one of the others, you'll earn something. AQS is either 0 (Basic) or 1 (everything else), AQM more complicated.

When you log in to the AC website and pull up the booking, does it tell you which brand of fare you have?
