I don't think this is a great idea anyway, taking people's photo without permission, but in a Malaysian context this is really a bad idea, it is quite offensive. The MH staff in the lounge have name badges so that should be all you need for any complaint. But given you did have lounge access near to your departure gate - and apart from alcohol the rest of the catering is fairly similar - then I think this wasn't a great way of handling this. Personally I would hope you would send an apology into the staff concerned.
