Hello TravelTalk community,
I'm hoping someone can help or provide suggestions here.
Three days ago, I received an e-mail from ANA/BidMyPrice inviting me to submit a bid to upgrade my flights (JFK to DEL via SIN and NRT) from Economy (Fare class K) to Premium Economy. On the PlusGrade (BidMyPrice) site, after I submit all my bidding amounts, name/credit card details, and confirming terms/conditions, on the page I would have expected to be the "confirmation of bid submission" page, I instead receive an error message which says, "We are unable to process your request at this time." So, I cannot submit a bid. This has been the same result for the past three days since I received the original e-mail. No success!
Here is what I've tried:
- submitting bids different days, and different times of day;
- submitting a bid only for the first flight, and no offers for any other flights (given the last flight I'm eligible to submit an offer for isn't until Feb 6);
- submitting higher dollar figure bids;
- clearing my browser's cache and cookies;
- using different browsers (Chrome, Firefox, IE, Edge);
- using different devices (iPhone, home PC, work PC);
- entering different credit cards (this shouldn't matter though given the payment isn't pulled unless your bid is accepted? In any event both cards I tried have more than enough room on them);
- triple-checking my personal details and card details are entered correctly;
- e-mailing ANA customer support (three days ago - still haven't heard back from them);
- spending a full hour on the phone with ANA's customer support - they were very nice and put me on hold several times to research/consult others, but in the end they had to say they couldn't help and don't know how to help with this. And they said I can't even just buy the upgrade rather than bid on the site because they don't offer that service);
- messaging ANA on Facebook, only to have them say they don't respond to booking inquiries over social media (unlike, say, LOT Polish airlines, who are brilliant at responding over social media);
- replying directly to the BidMyPrice e-mail that sent the offer only to have it bounce back as undeliverable (as expected but wanted to try it);
- e-mailing [email protected] with my problem (haven't heard back from them);
- extensively researching the internet about this, with only a very few hits (one is on this forum - someone had this exact same problem with SAS but his resolution, if any, wasn't stated in this forum); and
- seeing if there was anything on the original ANA reservation that might have been inaccurate or needed completion (e.g., my Known Traveller number, or API).
Anyone have any suggestions of things to try? PlusGrade says on their website that if there are any issues, don't contact them, contact the airline. There is no publicly-available e-mail or phone number for PlusGrade/BidMyPrice, so they clearly don't want people like me ringing them! But - why won't they take my money!!
Many thanks in advance!
