Yes, it might have something to do with TPE. This is all very strange from my perspective - will probably avoid this route in the future if I don't want to visit Taiwan on the same trip.

I'm quite interested in understanding what happened there. Nevertheless, the easiest approach is just to avoid TPE for these type of arrangements. I have also no particular interest in flying with CI so hoping to pick BR or SQ if I need to go to TPE.
