Background:
I need to find a ticket for my wife departing CDG to IAD (direct) in J
- OW ticket doesn't make sense
- If I book RT direct to the date I need and leave the return to sometime in the future, the price drops significantly which is expected.
- I'd like to make sure that the ticket can still be used (minus change fees) to change the date of the return IAD-CDG once we will know which date. Of course, it will be sometime within less than 12 months after the original flight.
- If I read the fare rules correctly, we can simply pay $250 in change fees and re-book another date where P class is available, is my understanding correct?
It’s €250, not $250, but there’s a secondary issue: you’ve listed a seasonal fare with a 3-month max stay. If you try to return on a day where that fare wouldn’t be valid, it’s going to have to reprice. It will generally use the fares that are in place today, so you could try out different return dates to get an idea of what the possible range might be.
