I found it to be worth it to get Ambassador for a stay at the Strings, but that was because I got 20k IHG points + the cut in the rate on a weekend was signficant... plus I am staying in a base room. I'd be paying an extra $125 for a two day stay in a Club Room. $60 for some canapes and breakfast? No. I'd just as soon spend the money on food elsewhere.
