Side note: I strongly believe that everyone who has had their accounts locked should file a DOT complaint. The airline is forced to reply within 60 days, and if the DOT receives many substantially similar complaints, they are likely to investigate closely and may file an enforcement order. Even if you don't really care about your miles, it would be beneficial for the community if you were to file a DOT complaint. It only take a few minutes.
Also, the DOT publishes numbers of how many DOT complaints an airline receives. AA certainly deserves one per locked account.

I think the main reason AA CorpSec is taking its sweet time to terminate accounts is because it does not want too many people to complain at once. There is no technical reason for this.
