Am I, however, interested in how YOU think you can take better care of a cabin than an armed agent.
Well we are all just wagging our tounges here. But talking to plenty of people after 9/11, especially other guys who I've sat next to in front of the plane, it seems to be common sense that we will react quickly and violently to any hijacker. It just isn't like any other situation on the ground. The hijacker will not only kill everyone on the plane, but they will target lots of people on the ground too. That eliminates any restraint if you think about it.

All I know for sure is that I will react quickly and firmly without thought of legal or regulatory consequence. And yes I have personal experience in severe violent crowd control so I am quite sure of how I will react. I don't necessarily have to kill the hijacker and I'm sure I would try to avoid that. Yet an FAM lives within regulations. Plus he or she carries a firearm and knowing a few people of that ilk they would prefer to use their firearm rather than another tactic of restraint. Not all would I'm sure. But if you are using a firearm to quell a disturbance, you are likely to think about it for a second or two. In that time I'll be on top of the hijacker and likely get shot in the back by the FAM.
