AA's approach to lounges is different to BA. Whereas BA tries to enable lounge access whereever practical (and has something like a 96% hit rate), AA really isn't in the game for signing up Third Party lounge arrangements. Vast swaths of AA's network has no lounge provision. Even Houston was lounge-less until quite recently. Your lounge access is based on your flight operator, not your frequent flyer card issuer.
So Salón VIP Santamaría is just for Iberia and BA. You're not missing much, it's as basic a lounge as you will get, but it is open to Priority Pass cardholders.
