For the more direct routes shown, web site would price the entire itinerary in P. Trying to use multi-cities with a break point in Canada, however, I would get my desired itinerary, but with the leg in question pricing in Z rather than P. Even for the simpler itinerary pricing all in P, when using multi-city, that leg would still price in Z. So it appears Amadeus is not doing a good job at constructing the best fares for more complex itineraries.
Matrix was pricing my itinerary all in P. So, in the end, I reinstalled ita powertools. Passed on the itinerary to aircanada.com and lo and behold, the entire P fare came up and I was able to purchase it.
Likewise it does not seem possible anymore to book routes with an overnight connection (to avoid, say, a 6 am departure...), an even calling in they could not do it.
Aircanada.com has been Amadeus driven for a very long time.
