If you want a budget meal, I can recommend a SubWay about 10-15 minutes walk from the hotel.
Yes, breakfast is about 30 euros. The Westin Excelsior in Rome charges 42 euros ... and breakfasts in UK *wood are not cheap, either. But you can just go to any café in Versailles and have an expresso and very good croissant for less than 4 euros.
