On more than one occasion, Álex Cruz has told me that BA CEO is all that matters to him. He has (repeatedly) pointed out that all four of his children (now teenage to early 20s) are British, have spent their whole lives in West London and regard themselves as British. On a personal level I doubt a theoretically Madrid based job for an essentially non airline position is attractive. The immediate task ahead of the new IAG CEO is the integration of Air Europa into Iberia, going through the regulatory, political and financial hurdles that lie in the way. When Álex ran Vueling he commuted to BCN from "home" and I doubt he will be wanting to do that again.
