French Toast is supposed to be made with brioche, which is basically sweet bread, but croissants are rolled-up flaky pastry. I struggle to understand how the two could be combined...
well actually, if we are going to “go French”’on this, originally, French toast was only ever made with leftover stale bread rather than fresh brioche (which makes a lovely French toast but not really in the original spirit), hence why we call it ‘pain perdu’
