I've searched for the forums but can't seem to find an existing thread for this question.

I have the basic Marriott Bonvoy American Express Credit Card (that was discontinued for new card holders so I can still use mine) whereby you receive 6 x points if you spend at an eligible Marriott resort, restaurant and retail shop and then 2 x points for all other spend.

In September I purchased on this Amex a holiday at the "Sheraton Deva Spa & Golf Resort" expecting to receive the 6 x points for the total transaction cost but only received 2 x points. I lodged a complaint with Amex and they created a ticket which would take 8 weeks to review. The 8 weeks expired today, and I also received an email from Amex stating "bonus points are earnt at Marriott properties that participate with this offer".

I recently checked out of this hotel the other day and charged all the resort spend to my room, so went to my Amex account to review what points I received for that charge and low-and-behold, against the exact same transaction name for the resort I received 6 x Bonvoy points through Amex for all the resort charges...

Amex have said they need to now re-open the original ticket and I'll need to wait another 8 weeks for them to investigate things....I've asked for this process to be expedited and I've sent them a video of the 2 x statements on their website showing the exact same biller name on the statement, and the 2 x and 6 x points posting.

I can't see anything wrong with my assumption that both transactions should have received 6 x points but wanted to know if others had experienced this, if there was any Amex contact you can reach out to to expedite this, and is there a list on the Marriott website anywhere that details what resorts participate in these bonus offers??
