I am happy with Premium Economy / Elite but I will wait until flight day minus a few days to see if a cheaper business seat becomes available. I have trouble believing that if business class seats are available and are not being sold at the regular price that they would not lower the price to fill the seats
A lot of price-insensitive business travelers buy last minute J tickets, so in some cases J fares may actually go up close to the flight date. And if an airline consistently discounts J tickets last minute, it disincentives travelers to buy at the standard fare, which will reduce yields. EVA seems content to let the J cabin go out partially full and maintain their pricing power.
