The extra time actually would be flying to JNB because I would need to fly to Dubai 14 hours and another 8 1/2 hours flying from Dubai to Johannesburg. The return flight I would save only around 2 hours.

The Emirates ticket is $1150 a ticket plus another $425 for Airlink tickets. With SAA the total would be $1199 a ticket including airlink. United was a more than Emirates.
