Tragically I bet he was on UA 938 or the like (the 1350 departures) which are apparently coded as a light lunch instead of a dinner. This is what I was offered on the 2pm flights this summer on SEA-ORD. OTOH, I got a great choice-of-hot entrees dish on the SEA-LAX evening flights (which become, tragically, a 735 in a few weeks).
