My MyWay Choice for Garden Inn is left on points and if I'll be there for breakfast, I ask them to swap at check-in. Never had an issue with it. Two stays at Garden Inns this week and asked for them to swap to breakfast. They both said the change must now be made online 48 hours in advance. There's no way for them to change it. It's a significant blow for me as I often don't know several days in advance if I'll be there/awake/available during breakfast hours. And if I'm not having food, I'd rather the points than losing out altogether. This just gives me zero incentive to book an HGI in the future.
