The vast majority of these self declared "travel experts" have no real clue or insight into the industry and just want to drive traffic for ads, referrals or similar. They either engage in hyperbole to curry favor with the product or service they are "reviewing" or nit pick to be noticed by the "offending" provider and receive special attention and perks that way.

Some even are frequent copiers of threads / topics / discussions of forums such as this one. There are a few, who really do provide genuine reviews highlighting pros and cons, but those are the exception. I don't mind if they can make good money of their work, but these days there is loads of crap out there with only one or two handful of good ones. YMMV.
