I have personally never had them get back to me within 24 hours, I actually assumed it was precisely to stop me from cancelling with a full refund and booking elsewhere if it was still the same price elsewhere. Recently there have been a few reports of people actually getting a response within 24 hours and therefore being able to cancel when it didn't go their way. I booked around 11:30pm last night and submitted my claim immediately afterwards. The response came just after 8am this morning.
I had a similar experience earlier in the week. The claims seem to be handled in India so assume they work out of Pune which is GMT+5:30
