Pretty much a given. If they have the same rates and plans, it's a pleasant surprise.

I book hotels primarily on Japanese websites Jalan, failing that Rakuten. Mainly for the points (rebate). Last resort is booking.com which has same listings in any language.

For Toyoko Inn I book on their website due to the 1 free night after 10 and other discounts and privileges. Or AMEX FHR which I have to book through AMEX.

I stayed at the Via Inn Nagoya Ekimae Tsubaki a few times. Very new.
