Something like 5th year AF for Citi Premier, was offered one time $95 statement credit +1000 TYP per month if I spend $1000/month for 3 months. Minimal spend. I wanted to keep the card so I took deal.
First call, US-sounding agent said they no longer offer any retention deals that they had stopped doing that last summer. 2nd call Asian-sounding agent tried to transfer me to an account specialist but the call was dropped. 3rd call, also Asian-sounding agent successfully transferred me to a "senior account specialist" who offered this deal. I did not ask about better offers.
I've received some similar offer every year.
