My ticket actually continues to a third country on the same ticket (On a third airline leaving from T3) But I'm not going to take that flight but will take a TG flight instead. That said, getting an ETA might be good insurance.
Yes you have to collect your BP from the Transit Desk & re-clear security. India only accepts paper BPs for international travel so you will have to collect that. Also make sure that security stamps your correct onward BP i.e. your TG one.

ETA is good insurance although in your case you don't technically need it because you have an onward on the same ticket.
