It has to be booked online for the 5X. I tried to book a participant Hotel online (prepaid and very expensive). It would not book, every date I would try "was sold out". Any other booking service and Hotel Web site had availability. I called Platinum Travel and they could book by phone. I complained about the 5X as the web site appeared broken for this property. After verifying the issue the agent issued a courtesy credit for the 4X (1X did post) but warned me this is a one time courtesy given the booking online was indeed failing and advised me to either book online or not expect the 5X. Most hotels that are not part of platinum benefits I use other CCs that provide far more value.
