Renting a car from Avis a few weeks ago, I found myself reading through all of their fine print [I was bored - REALLY bored] and found out that as a renter, it is my responsibility to ensure all fluid levels are maintained during the rental.
Not meaning to lower your experience, but perhaps Thrifty have a similar term within their fine print.
