Rather than an exchange on PM, many might find it helpful for you to post your Paddington-area recommendations in this thread, as I imagine the ability to pop into London on the HEX for lunch during a layover is a popular option. In the OP's other thread I listed a couple of my own Paddington-area recommendations (Lord Wargrave for above-average pub fare, and Hobson's for fish & chips).
