Yes, maglev is a 'must do' 430km is what you're aiming for, but even at 300km+ it's still a good ride. And fairly cheap.

But the order is important... coming from PVG you run the real risk of [criminal] taxi touts. Going the other way - no problems... taxi from hotel to the maglev terminal is fine (no funny business), and the train beats the long and boring second part of the the cab ride to the airport.

The only issue you sometimes get is that the taxi driver to the maglev terminal asks if they can take you all the way to the airport. You just say 'no' and that's the end of it.
