I have one plane and one bus story:
When I was in Freiburg, I had to take the train to get to a bus to Prague. My train was late by several minutes in an already-short window that I didn't realize until the day of. I spied the bus as we pulled into the station and the drivers were getting ready to take off. I hopped off, sprinted the length of a football field, got on the bus, they scanned my ticket, closed the door, and we left. I think from train doors opening to the bus leaving was about 30sec.
When I was coming back from Vancouver in December, I didn't realize that the US did immigration and customs on the Canadian side. The line was about 45min long and I finished with 10min until departure. I ran through the terminal, skipping my planned breakfast, coffee, et cetera. and then when I got to the gate, the told me they had delayed the flight on account of the line (I think they would have already closed the door if they hadn't delayed it) and I sat in my seat, starving for the next 30min until takeoff.
