So I'm getting a huge runaround on my issue here.
I called Hertz up a while back, and they said they would investigate it. They emailed me back in mid-December with a simple "rest assured these point removable is correct due to double points being previously rewarded to you for Multi Month rentals." I did a thorough audit of my own account, and could not find a scenario where 37k worth of points was awarded as "double points" to me. I wrote back to them stating as much, and asked for additional details as to which rental transactions resulted in 37k worth of double points. Additionally, 37k worth of points accounts for ALL my reward point accruals in the past 5 years.. which just seems too absurd to me.
They wrote back again today (after 3 weeks) with a simple, "We have reviewed your account in full and have determined the adjustment was correct. As previously stated, the points were removed due to the account being awarded double points for Multi Month rentals."
Does anyone have any better suggestions on how to get more information from them? I simply don't trust a blanket statement of "trust us we're right" versus getting some actual details.
