As part of the never ending renovations they have today shut the Club Intercontinental lounge and moved it into a corner suite 418. Didn't see the old CI lounge but I imagine this temporary one is a lot worse than the bespoke one!
Having paid 25 OMR for access and not told at checkin by the agent that it was a temporary arrangement I am a bit peeved. However, the ladies running it are top notch.
If you have no idea what the old lounge was like, why allow yourself to get worked up?
The "old" facility was small and fussy, with a view over the entrance and driveway. It's hard to believe you've been short-changed by the move: though unless you are a hard drinker, £50++ seems a bit over the top.
The staff have always been top-notch, and of course have moved to the new spot.
