Yeah tried calling Hyatt and they were the ones to tell me about the 3 night minimum when using points/free night awards. Apparently there are other Hyatt hotels that do this tricky minimum stay thing as well. I’ll try booking the 3 nights with points plan as you said and see what happens. Just a little maddening that we have to jump through hoops for some hotels just to use the cat 1-4 award.
Hyatt Centric Waikiki had this issue when I stayed there. 3 night minimum, which shouldn’t really be allowed IMO. Otherwise how can anyone use a Cat Certificate there? It’s possible to get 3 at one time but exceedingly difficult, and only further complicated with short expirations and different expirations. Ultimately ended up just paying in points.
The worst oart part is it was a 4 night stay and they couldn’t even book the 4th night with the Certificate even after paying for the first 3 with points. That was truly disappointing.
