Citi extended warranty claim denial--suggestions on how to proceed?
In November 2018 I purchased an iPad Pro. I used my Double Cash card which provided 2 years additional warranty at the time. As of December the iPad's maximum battery capacity has reduced to 74% after only 232 cycles. Apple's website claims that the battery should retain 80% capacity after 1000 cycles. I filed a claim with Citi in December. I received a letter today saying they are denying the claim because "the Apple warranty does not cover batteries." I requested ~$120 to have the battery replaced under Apple's repair program.
The line in the Apple warranty states
This Warranty does not apply: (a) to consumable parts, such as batteries or protective coatings that are designed to diminish over time, unless failure has occurred due to a defect in materials or workmanship;
I believe that my battery has failed due to a defect in materials based on this data. Has anyone had Citi pay on one of these claims?
