I used a new Nexus kiosk yesterday entering Canada at YUL. I successfully scanned my passport and got my receipt, but then, instead of proceeding to baggage claim, it appeared that everyone had to stop and see a CBSA officer who asked the usual questions that non-Nexus members are asked: where did I go, how long was I away, what am I bringing back. I had thought that I only needed to talk to an officer if I had something to declare. Has anyone else experienced this?
Interesting. Last night, I flew IND => YYZ => YUL, and I used a declaration card in order to go through the
OSS Connections Corridor. <redacted by moderator>. He asked how I was, and then let me go. I am not sure why NEXUS at YUL now has this extra layer of 'security'. As well, I'm not certain why I wasn't asked further questions by this Officer because I do not think they can see that I am a NEXUS member with just my Passport.
