Opened the Platinum Schwab in Dec 2017 and my fee has not hit yet. I haven't used any of my credits for 2020 yet (full $200 airline, $200 uber and $100 saks still available).
1/3/20 - I called in, explained how the annual fee going up from when I originally signed up was more than I felt I could afford. $500 credit with no spend requirement - points weren't offered and I didn't ask.
Very glad I found this thread, almost made the entire annual fee go away with 1 quick phone call.
