Any point to Gold requalification following Plat?

Having just started my new membership year I know I will not be completing enough travel to requalify for Platinum. I have been told that this means an automatic move to gold next year (regardless of how much / little I fly).

Question – any point (aside from accruing FF points and adding to my lifetime membership points) in putting any status credits towards my QF account? (ie even if I were to reach 600 points or more, I would still only be gold…).

Advice / confirmation of the above appreciated.

Regards

WG
