Point taken on point values in Osaka, but at the end of the day there is value in doing the whole trip with little to nothing out of pocket for hotels as well.
NGL based on my experience at Prince Sakura I doubt mesm could be much worse. It sounds like you have enough points on hand so you could always double book PS and mesm right now for your dates and wait for reviews of mesm to come out once it opens. I'm staying there start of June tentatively but might switch if there are major service troubles.
