Don't be surprised if they add the charge 2-4 weeks later...

Not exactly the same, but I claimed a IHG credit card free night a few weeks ago and confirmed the same when I checked in and out. last week, I found a 1-night charge from the hotel that went in 3 days after I checked out. A quick call to the hotel confirmed it was in error. As promised, I got the credit back a few days after my call.
