If you purchase the ticket more than seven days before departure, you would have the right to cancel for a full refund within 24 hours (since IIRC AA no longer offers a free hold on tickets), but after than you either fly each segment as ticketed or the ticket loses all (remaining) value. No changes and no vouchers or credits are permitted unless there's a cancellation, significant schedule change, or weather waiver.
