If you can avoid the 737-900, do it. The only decent seats are 10 A-C, as they don't have the hard bulkhead. 11C has an entertainment/power box under the seat, so your legroom under the seat is limited. All of the seats feel narrow/cramped. The bathroom is also very tiny, even in First.
Even First Class isn't great, as Row 5 doesn't recline fully on the C/D side. But First Class on a transcon might get you a steak and some ice cream.
I would rather fly in a CRJ-200 than fly in the 737-900. The A321 is much better, if that is an option.
