For me personally, 100% of my trips are self funded pleasure trips, squeezed into every day or my annual leave.
Living a local bus ride from LGW terminal, my 18 months so far with silver status have in my option been worth it, making the 30 legs I have flown a completely more pleasureable experiance.
No queues for check in, security etc, Lounge access, and free exit row seats with extra leg room

100% worth it

And I will continue to retain silver as long as I can.
