It is still an A321 (well a Neo) I would try to call but my suspicion is that BA might just disabled online checkin for the whole flight. So I know it’s not ideal as the flight leaves early morning but probably you need to get to the airport early.
the seat map shows available seats both on business and economy at least a hope is there.
