So it is very nice, especially given people are so cheery and excited to work here, and always welcoming feedback.
lobby: seems very grand, from outside you see a gleaming glass structure lit up from inside.
Regency Club: decently sized, not many people right now (only 1 other person when I was there before 7am, and only 1 person when I was there 7-8pm). Staff very helpful. When I asked for tea and he responded they only have herbal he offered to go downstairs to get me some other kinds. Greg was there at night, very chatty and friendly (was chef prior, intelligent as he could tell me my room number when I said at the corner, on the train side) and also very helpful. When he was telling me about their drinks, and I pulled out tonic water and asked if they had lime, he got one for me, cut up in fourths, and also a tumbler with ice.
Their spread for breakfast and dinner interestingly includes starfruit, which is definitely not common in this part of the world. 2 hot items (breakfast was oatmeal and eggs with salsa on top, dinner tempura shrimp and mini quiches).
room: corner suite is ok, wish they would've designed it so it appears more spacious, because the entry hallway is quite narrow (not truly narrow, just not wide). and leads to a narrow (not wide) living room with sofa. Bathroom cooler than room. Plugs are harder to push in, as I didn't realize I didn't push it in all the way and thus my phone wasn't charged in the morning.
service: this is where they excel. Everybody says hi and is super-friendly, super-helpful. They seem very proud of their new hotel, and want you to love it too. Don't know how long that will last though, as it cannot stay new forever.
