I was on a Holland America cruise when the collision in Cozumel occurred. When I went to the "Ask the Captain" Q & A session, the Holland America captain observed that while it was strictly speculation at this point, the docking area at Cozumel is subject to strong and difficult to predict currents and that a misjudgement regarding those currents might have been the root cause of the accident.
